Vila Gale Ericeira

Amazing hotel with great amenities like the poolside snack bar, fitness center, and 24-hour reception. The staff once helped me find a valuable item I lost, which I appreciate. I recommend enjoying breakfast on the terrace. I'm coming back for Christmas!

Room Cleaning

Excellent location, next to the sea but just a few steps from the centre of Ericeira (a walk through this beautiful village is a must). The hotel has a large and pleasant area of terraces, viewpoints, gardens and swimming pools which, in our opinion, is the best place in Ericeira to have a beer while contemplating the waves. The breakfast is very good and varied. It has parking, outside, private and free, at the same door; perhaps a little small for the size and capacity of the hotel, although we had no problem finding space (probably not so easy in high season). All the staff are friendly and helpful. . . We had booked a room without a view, but we were moved, free of charge, to another room with a sea view, which we found to be a wonderful detail that we appreciate.

We spent almost a quarter of an hour waiting in line to sit down for breakfast. We saw many tables free, but they were not finished cleaning and preparing them. We probably went there at the time of the greatest crowding.

I liked the friendly welcome from the concierge, a gentleman with a great smile, grey hair and a moustache, sorry I don't know his name, who helped us to find a parking spot on street when we arrived. The location is great with the village in walking distance and overlooking the Atlantic.

I was surprised that we had to pay to use the pool table and it was a bit expensive as we played it every day. Some other indoor games would be good for children when it's raining e.g. a dart board, some board games.

Without a doubt the situation.The room was adequate but rather dowdy.There was a good choice for breakfast but the food which should have been hot was only lukewarm.

The restaurant food was not that great, and the staff there not very helpful. I would just avoid it, there are lots of places to go nearby.

The location was perfect. The Atlantic waves crashing beside the hotel felt like being on a ship without the motion! Heaven.

The bed was very hard and uncomfortable but the staff brought us around 8 different rooms until we found a comfortable bed. As we were staying for 2 weeks it was important to us. They need to address this as I would mention it to anyone who is interested in staying. Town very good as a base for touring. We were there last 2 weeks in September and restaurants very quiet some closed for holidays.

Spent 5 lovely days at Vila Gale and really enjoyed our stay there. We stayed in a room with balcony and as stated in other reviews, I would highly recommend it. The pool area is great, relaxing and with beds for everyone. The breakfast was of a very good standard. Would definitely recommend it for a relaxing break.

The walls in the rooms are very thin - you can hear everything! Also, we understood from the Booked.net website that we could hire mopeds. The receptionist didn't seem to have the faintest idea what we were on about.

The location. The fact that the room had a balcony with a sea view. The external pool by the sea...

Confusion at check-in due to high number of guests doing a late check out. Our room was not available at 2pm, when we really needed it.They were not dynamic enough to change the room to a clean available room by themselves. We had to insist in order to get it done. But it ended well, room changed, problem solved.... Also, difficult to Park. Could never park inside the hotel...

The fact that it was right by the ocean and it had a great view and nice outdoor pools.

The parking was very limited and and the rooms on the first floor don't have any nice views.
